Naked!

Now that I have your attention, I guess I should let you know that 'Naked' is the title of a story I was required to read for my Research and Writing class. sorry guys :) So this was a pretty cool short story about a boy who grew up licking, touching, and shaking everything in sight due to Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. It is different from anything else I have ever read, but I really enjoyed it. Naked is written by David Sedaris and it is from his own experiences growing up with OCD. He writes it in a way that makes it easy to understand how it feels to be in his shoes. One paragraph described the excuses his mother made up for each new compulsion that David acquired as he grew older. In the end, David finds refuge in the more commonly thought of as a "death trap"; cigarettes. These little white cancer -causers and their accouterments (lighters, ash trays, the need to walk outside) keeps his mouth and hands busy (as Sedaris puts it). I guess that there are a few upsides to smoking, eh? Anyways, I really enjoyed this story- so I recommend that you read it!
